Thiên tai ở khu vực biên giới Việt Nam-Campuchia vùng Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long gây ra những ảnh hưởng lớn tới những hoạt động kinh tế, xã hội và gây thiệt hại về tài sản của người dân trong khu vực. Việc đánh giá những rủi ro và dự báo xu hướng của thiên tai dựa trên những sự kiện thiên tai trong quá khứ cùng với những rủi ro mà nó gây ra là rất cần thiết cho công tác phòng chống, giảm thiểu tác động của thiên tai trong khu vực. Bài báo cáo sử dụng các công cụ đánh giá rủi ro thiên tai dựa vào cộng đồng của Bộ Nông Nghiệp Phát Triển Nông Thôn và kết quả khảo sát ý kiến đại biểu về thiên tai trong vùng biên giới của Tiến sĩ Bùi Việt Hưng, qua đó những rủi ro trực tiếp và gián tiếp của thiên tai gây ra cho sản xuất nông nghiệp trong khu vực được đánh giá cụ thể nhằm nâng cao nhận thức của cộng đồng về thiên tai và tác động của nó trong điều kiện biến đổi khí hậu như hiện nay. Đồng thời đưa ra những giải pháp/hành động giảm thiểu và ứng phó tác động của thiên tai.

Natural disasters in Vietnam-Cambodia border areas in the Mekong River Delta region causes the affected economic activities, social and cause damage to the property of the people in the area. The post reported the use of risk assessment tools community based natural disaster of Ministry of agriculture and rural development and the results of surveys of delegates about the disaster in the border region of Dr. Bui Viet hung, through which the direct and indirect risks of natural disasters caused to agricultural production in the area is a specific assessment to get consciousness of the community about the disaster and its impacts in terms of climate change today.
