NARRATIVE
1. Tell about one of your unforgettable events.
I will always remember the morning that I had my first job interview.
I woke up early because I was so nervous. I worried that the interviewer would think I was careless or clumsy. I dressed up in my best clothes and I shined my shoes till they gleamed. Then I became concerned that I was going to be late, so I ran to the bus. The bus ride seemed to stretch on forever. Finally, I arrived at the company
office and gave the receptionist my name. My stomach was grumbling and I was sweating all over. I tried doing yoga breathing to calm down.
Finally, my name was called and I walked in to the first interview of my life.

2. Tell about an awful experience that happened to you.
Looking at the picture, I can’t help remembering one episode of my childhood. I was ten then and studied in a primary school. Like all children, I liked to play after school and hated to sit at the table working on my lessons for hours.
One day, I went home with an arithmetic test paper on which the score “5” in red ink. With trembling hands, I presented the paper to my father. Oh, how fast my heart was beating! On seeing the score, father roared and thundered. First he made me drop to my knees, and then he beat me ferociously until I begged for mercy and promised to do better in future exams.
Never shall I forget the fearful expression on my father’s face while he was raging at me so violently. I’d like to give a solemn assurance that I will never do anything like that in dealing with my child, if I have one.

3. Tell about a happy or funny thing that happened to you.
One day I was reading a book under a tree. The place was cool and pleasant and I enjoyed reading the book.
All of a sudden, I saw a huge snake, a python. It was moving slowly towards me. I was frightened. I ran at once to tell some people about the snake. Many people soon came to the place where I had seen the snake. They saw it and quickly caught it. They tied it to a long pole. It could not move.
One of the men who had caught the snake then gave me ten dollars. I was very happy indeed. I have, however, never read any books under a tree since that exciting event.

4. Tell about the first day you learned to ride a bicycle or a motorcycle.
I have a memorable experience when I was five years old. My father bought for me a medium sized learner’s bicycle, with two side wheels. I was very happy. But after that I envied other boys who could ride their bicycles without the two side wheels. I wanted to be able to ride a normal bicycle. So one day, I asked my father to remove the side wheels.
At first, he hesitated, fearing I might fall and get myself injured. I was his only child. But my mother persuaded and nagged him everyday. Finally, but reluctantly he removed the side wheels for me. Initially, my father hold the seat, I had nothing to worry about. As I started to pedal, the wheels responded beautifully, I was trilled and I kept pedaling for quite a distance. Suddenly, I realized that my father was not beside me. I pressed the brakes and I fell on my side. My father started laughing and came running towards me. He helped me up and asked me to try again, I tried and slowly I gained confidence. But I was only able to move straight. Within a week of continuous practice, I was able to pedal without help. The feeling of achievement was so immense that my heart was filled with pride and joy. In two weeks, I was able to ride my bicycle with the other boys.
I had many falls, but they were worth it. Now I can ride my bicycle well and have no fear at all. I am now eagerly looking forward to the day when I can ride my own motorcycle.

How I learned to ride a bicycle

The outline:
1. Exciting or not
2. Who helped to learn
3. Was easy or hard
4. The end

Learning how to ride a bicycle can be exciting as well as painful. But I found it very exciting indeed.

It was my sister who taught me how to ride a bicycle. One day my sister brought her bicycle and told me to sit on it and place my feet on the pedals. Then, she advised me to pedal slowly while she held the bicycle and ran slowly along. The road on which I was learning was smooth and there was almost no traffic.

My sister was kind. She spent several hours trying to teach me how to ride. She did not let go of the bicycle even once. I was indeed very much excited at this opportunity to learn how to ride a bicycle. I thanked my sister for her kindness and patience. On the next day, again, my sister took me to the road.

Now, she told me to try to ride without her help. This was painful, for I fell several times and received some cuts on my hands and legs. My sister, however, told me not to lose heart. Soon I found that I could pedal some distance without falling. My sister then told me that I had learned enough. I now needed some practice only. I was extremely happy to hear this.

I was now very happy and proud to be able to ride a bicycle.

5. Tell about your experience of first time away from home.
Leaving to go to college was my very first time away from home, and it took a lot of adjusting to a new surrounding. I didn't have my mom right by my side anymore and I needed to become more independent on doing things on my own. Adjusting to a new city, community, and school was a challenge because I was used to being in my own city, with my old friends, at my old school. I often got homesick and wanted to go home, but I soon adjusted.
At first when I originally started taking about getting out of the house, and going to school I didn't realize that it would take so much adjusting. I'm used to having my own room at home, but when I went away to college I had to share a room with a total stranger. We are friends but are totally different. I had to get used to her TV being on at night, listening to loud music, and different bedtime schedules. Although we are different, we have become close friends because she is the person that I spend all of my time with.We talk about everything, share our belongings, and help each other out. It is hard to believe that I am so close to a person that was a total stranger less that two months ago. Being away from home has made me more independent, because I have had to do things on my own. When I was home, my mom did everything; from cooking for me to doing my laundry. I had to learn how to cook, clean and for the most part take care of myself. For the first time, I learned how to balance my checkbook and pay my bills. I had acquired personal maturity by being responsible. I met new people from various cultural and personal backgrounds. I found all of this during my first year while living in a dormitory and thereafter living in apartments.
Going to college and living away from home for the first time helped me in terms of the future and it taught me to be independent. It was a living and learning experience to me.

6. Tell about an experience that helped you grew up.

7. Tell about an experience that taught you a lesson.
When I was twelve years old, I had a serious accident. My cousin and I went out by motorbike. My father told me not to go out but I decided to explore everything around.
When my parents went to their hometown, we stole the motorbike’s key. Although we had a motorbike, we didn’t know how it worked. We took it along the river and a large green field. Then, my cousin tried riding it. She was excited and she rode it around me. After that, she gave me the motorbike and she asked if I wanted to try. I was so nervous but I deciced to try. I couldn’t control my hands because I was short. Suddenly, a women with a big bag appeared. I saw her, but I didn’t know how to stop. Unfortunately, the motorbike ran from the back and hit her legs. We stopped and helped her stand up. We aplogized and promised not to do it again. After that, we came home and put the motorbike’s key in the original position.
After the accident, we learned that we should obey our parents. This dangerous adventure is still a secret that I decided not to tell my parents. I became more obedient to my parents after this accident. This is the most memorable memory in my life.

8. Tell about a memorable journey.
A few months ago my father and I visited Singapore, one of the most famous cities in Asia.
During my stay in Singapore, I went out everyday with my father to see the beautiful and interesting places and things in the city. One day we went to the Tiger Balm Garden where I saw several statues of people, animals and other strange creature beautifully made and kept. The sea near this garden makes it a pleasant place to visit. We spent almost half of the day at this place.
Another day we visited the museum where I saw hundreds of curious things preserved for scholars and others. It was indeed an education to see all those things. I also visited some of the harbors and saw the large ships anchored there. The sight of the ships aroused a desire in me to cross the oceans and go round the world. I was indeed deeply impressed by activities at the harbor. Then every night, I went round the town and visited some of the parks and other places of interest. The numerous lights and the constant stream of traffic kept the city alive. I visited a few of the cinemas as well.
In short, I enjoyed every moment of my stay in this famous city of Singapore.

9. Tell about your great vacation.
That was a beautiful Sunday morning when I went to Vung Tau beach with some of my friends.
We came there at 8 o'clock by bus. We took with us swimsuits, water polo and many other things. When arriving there we saw many people swimming merrily in the sea. We found a shady tree and put our things under it and jumped into the water to swim. We played water polo in the sea and caught a lot of small shells and fish. We had our lunch and enjoyed a lot of seafood. After that we rested.
At 2 o'clock we prepared to come home. On our way back home, we stopped by some other places. W
