Départ le matin vers le nord-ouest de Saigon (75 kms – 1h30 de route) pour visiter des tunnels à Ben Duoc appartenant au système de tunnels souterrains de Cu Chi, un témoignage marquant de la dureté de la guerre du Vietnam, de la détermination et de l’ingéniosité de l’armée Nord-Vietnamienne.
Les tunnels furent creusés dès la fin des années 1940 par des combattants déterminés mais sous-équipés face à des forces françaises, puis américaines disposant d’artillerie, de bombardiers et d’armes chimiques. Ils s’étendaient dans toute la région sur plus de 250 km de galeries. Les visiter permet de mieux saisir l’étendue du travail et des conditions de vie dans les tunnels.
Après le déjeuner libre, reprise de la route en direction de My Tho dans le delta du Mékong. Après 2h30 de route, arrivée en milieu d’après midi au Island Lodge, hébergement de charme situé sur un îlot du Mékong.
Reste du temps libre pour profiter du lodge et de sa piscine.
