Phải kiểm tra thực tế hàng hóa sau khi kiểm tra hồ sơ giấy. Đây là mức độ kiểm tra cao nhất, phải làm nhiều thủ tục và tốn chi phí, thời gian, công sức nhất cho cả chủ hàng và hải quan.
Trước hết, bạn vẫn phải có bộ hồ sơ như luồng vàng trên đây. Sau khi hải quan tiếp nhận duyệt hồ sơ, sẽ chuyển sang cho đội kiểm hóa. Bạn đăng kí kiểm hóa, xuống cảng làm thủ tục hạ hàng đưa vào khu kiểm hóa, rồi liên hệ với cán bộ hải quan xuống làm thủ tục kiểm tra.

Hiện có 2 hình thức kiểm hóa: kiểm bằng máy soi (kiểm soi), và kiểm thủ công. Có trường hợp, hải quan kiểm máy soi thấy nghi ngờ lại cho mở container kiểm thủ công (quá mệt mỏi và tốn kém!).

Sau khi kiểm tra xong, cán bộ hải quan sẽ về Chi cục làm các thủ tục cần thiết: biên bản kiểm hóa. Nếu ok, sẽ làm thủ tục bóc tờ khai là xong.
