Ngày 14/6/2019, tại Khu công nghiệp Đình Vũ, Cát Hải, Hải Phòng, Công ty TNHH Sản xuất và Kinh doanh VinFast - Tập đoàn Vingroup đã khánh thành nhà máy sản xuất ô tô, chính thức bước vào giai đoạn sản xuất hàng loạt. Với 21 tháng xây dựng và hoàn thiện – Nhà máy ô tô VinFast đã đạt kỷ lục thế giới về tiến độ; đồng thời đưa công nghiệp ô tô Việt tiến lên nấc thang mới: tự chủ sản xuất và làm chủ chuỗi giá trị toàn cầu dưới thương hiệu Việt - VinFast.Nhà máy sản xuất ô tô VinFast là hạng mục quan trọng nhất của Tổ hợp Sản xuất ô tô và xe máy điện VinFast, được khởi công vào ngày 2/9/2017. Được xây dựng trên diện tích hơn 500 nghìn m2 trong tổng số 335 ha của toàn tổ hợp, đáp ứng xu thế công nghệ 4.0 – nhà máy sản xuất ô tô VinFast đạt quy mô và độ hiện đại hàng đầu thế giới. Công suất thiết kế giai đoạn 1 là 250.000 xe/năm, giai đoạn 2 là 500.000 xe/năm, tốc độ sản xuất 38 xe/giờ.Bên cạnh quy mô vượt trội, VinFast cũng là nhà máy ô tô đầu tiên tại Việt Nam sở hữu chu trình sản xuất hoàn thiện, đồng bộ và tự động hóa cao hàng đầu quốc tế với 6 nhà xưởng gồm: xưởng dập, xưởng hàn thân vỏ, xưởng sơn, xưởng động cơ, xưởng phụ trợ và xưởng lắp ráp. Các xưởng được kết nối liên hoàn và tự động hoá với hàng nghìn robot ABB, trang bị hệ điều hành sản xuất thông minh Siemens và SAP mang lại hiệu suất tối ưu.Đặc biệt, VinFast là nhà máy ô tô duy nhất tại Việt Nam làm chủ được các công đoạn cốt lõi, có năng lực tự sản xuất những cấu phần chính của một chiếc ô tô như thân vỏ, động cơ….
