Hi Everyone, I've just purchased a pair of Boston Acoustics VRB's (blindly) and was hoping that I didn't make a mistake. I previously owned a pair of NHT SB3's and we really happy with them but they didn't go with our new decor (damn wife)so I went with the Boston's. Anyone have any experience with these speakers, any comments? I know they share the same tweeter and midrange as the reference towers but it's really hard to find some reviews out there on these babies. They are still in their boxes, I haven't had time to set these up yet. I also purchased the VRC (replaced NHT SC2) as my center and VRX's (replaced NHT superzero's) as my rears. They are being driven by a Denon AVR-3806 if that matters. Any information you can provide on any of these speakers will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I don't have a set of Boston VRB, but I do have a pair of Boston VR1 towers and I also have a set of NHT SB3, and IMO, the NHT bookshelves are better in every way than the Boston towers, EVEN ON BASS, so IMO, you have just taken a step backwards.

LOL, no I'm still happy I asked. Well that's what happens when you buy speakers without auditioning them. I'll give 'em a shot. Who knows, I may like them, with that said they'll probably be gone in two weeks :)

Anyone listen to VRB's in particular. I'm particulary interested in their midrange and treble quality, I have pair of Polk PSW-505's to hand anything below 60hz.

still in the boxes? TAKE EM BACK! (mow the lawn, paint the house, fix the fence...............................) whatever it takes to suck up a little and keep a small portion of your cave enjoyable! Not everything can match! Thats my line anyway!
