2. Objective:To ensure proper provention and timely detection and elimination ò plant pets and diseases in the farm.3.Scope;This work instruction define the action and responsibilities of workers/ farmers involved in pests and diseases control operations (Sigatokaand other diseases) in the farm from planting and preparation of materials to actual implementation of control measures.4. Work instructions:-Prepare the following:Powet sprayer unit/ Boom tractFungicidesPersonal protective equipment (P.P.E) (like cover-all; mask)-Go to the farm assign area for spray.-Verify and check the water volume/ hectare.-Pour the fungicide in the Tank (Grams or liters/ ha)-Agitate well and mix thoroughly the solution using paddle or machine agitator.-Dissolve well especially powder formulation (10- 15 minutes)-The solution is ready for spray application.-Spray all leaves with fine or mist solution on the upper portion of the leaves up to the youngest leaf.-Spray the solution with good coverage.-Avoid hitting directly the fruits to minimize over residues that can cause chemical burn.-Best spray time at early morning and late in the afternoon.-Do not spray when high temperature and strong wind.-Follow Sigatoka spray program for good discase control (attached/ see control program)-Maximum of 5 clean leaves at harvest.-Repeat procedures to other area/ farm for Sigatoka control.-Report accomplishment to the supervisor.
