Antarctica is considered the coldest country and still cooler than the North Pole. Lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth is-86 degrees C at Vostok, near the southernmost point. In fact the temperature in Antarctica is too low, causing many of the ice where it never melts, the yearly average temperature is-36 degrees C. By contrast, the North Pole has the temperature in winter is-33 degrees C and in summer can rise a few more degrees.
